Circuit Breakers: the specification
What we take
Bolt-on and plug-in molded-case breakers by the box, insulated-case breakers, drawout low-voltage power breakers with their cradles, medium-voltage vacuum breakers, air-magnetic breakers, electrically operated breakers with their charging motors, and trip units and rating plugs on their own. Obsolete frames are premium stock.
What sets the number
Frame size, interrupting rating, trip unit type and current availability. A discontinued 800 A frame that plants still run and no one manufactures is worth many times its metal. A common current-production 100 A breaker is worth less individually but adds up fast by the pallet. Electronic trip units add value; missing rating plugs subtract it.
How we get it out
Breakers ship. Molded-case units get boxed and palletized, drawout breakers get racked out, wrapped and crated with their secondary disconnects protected. If they are still in a live line-up we come and pull them.
