Electrical Equipment Appraisal
We appraise for free because a bad guess costs you more than it costs us. You keep the written valuation whether you sell to us, sell elsewhere, or do nothing at all.

Plate 01
What an appraisal from us includes
A lot-by-lot valuation of the recoverable equipment, the ratings and nameplates we based each number on, the removal scope assumed, and a plain statement of what we consider scrap-only.
It is written. You can put it in a budget, hand it to a controller, or use it to test another bid.
Plate 02
Desk appraisal versus site survey
A desk appraisal works from your asset list, nameplate photos or single-line diagrams and comes back the same business day. It is accurate enough for budgeting on most low-voltage equipment.
A site survey is better when the removal is the uncertain part — upper floors, no dock, live adjacent gear — or when medium-voltage equipment is involved and configuration details decide the number. Surveys are also free.
Plate 03
Why we will tell you when something is worthless
Aluminum-bus panelboards in a difficult location, badly burned gear, and obsolete lines with no parts market are frequently worth less than the labor to remove them. We say so.
The alternative — quoting a hopeful number and then reducing it on site — is how sellers lose confidence in this entire industry.
Plate 04
Insurance, tax and litigation appraisals
We are equipment buyers, not certified appraisers, so our valuations are market offers rather than formal appraisal reports. For insurance claims or tax positions requiring a credentialed appraisal, ask us and we will tell you what kind of report you actually need.
For everything else — budgeting a recovery, testing a bid, deciding whether to sell now or at shutdown — a written market offer is the more useful document.
Questions
Frequently asked
How do you decide what something is worth?
Ratings and configuration first, then how sellable the specific nameplate is, then condition and documentation, then the real cost of getting it out of your building. The last item is the one sellers consistently underestimate.
Do you charge for removal?
No. On any lot with recoverable value the removal cost is priced into the offer and you receive a net number. If a lot is genuinely worthless — badly burned gear, scrap-only aluminum panels in a bad location — we will tell you that instead of inventing a number.
Will you take one item or do you only do whole plants?
Both. One transformer on a pad is a legitimate call. So is a complete plant electrical lot with substations, MCC lineups, hundreds of bus plugs and miles of tray cable.
How fast can you be on site?
A written offer comes back the same business day. Crews typically mobilize within one to two weeks, and faster on a shutdown or a demo schedule that has already been set.
Do you buy outside the United States?
We buy in all 50 states. We are not currently purchasing internationally.
What do you do with the equipment?
Reusable gear is tested, refurbished where needed, and resold into the used-equipment market — often to plants waiting many months on new switchgear. What cannot be reused is separated into copper, aluminum, steel and electronics streams.
