What we buy under electrical transformer buyers
Liquid-filled pad-mount and station class
Oil-filled pad-mount and pole-mount units, loop-feed and radial, unit substations with their primary switching and secondary sections, and station-class power transformers with tap changers, radiators and conservators. Oil is tested for PCB content before anything moves, and the manifests come with your paperwork.
Dry-type and cast coil
Ventilated dry-type and cast-coil units from 15 kVA through 5 MVA, including 480 V to 208 V step-downs, K-rated units specified for harmonic loads, and drive isolation transformers. Dry-types move easily, resell quickly and generally carry a strong number relative to their weight.
Specialty and process transformers
Rectifier and furnace transformers, autotransformers, buck-boost units, harmonic mitigating transformers, grounding transformers, and control and isolation transformers by the pallet. Heavy process units are frequently the most valuable single item in a plant electrical lot.

What the equipment is worth to you
kVA, winding metal, voltage class and oil condition set transformer value, and copper windings are worth meaningfully more than aluminum. A nameplate photo is the most useful thing you can send: it resolves kVA, primary and secondary voltage, impedance and usually winding material in one shot.
Two numbers sit under every offer: what the next owner will pay for a working asset, and what the copper and aluminum are worth if nobody will. We show you both, then subtract our removal cost in the open.
Removal is included, not extra
Our price includes de-energized disassembly, rigging, loading and freight. You are not buying a demolition service from us and then selling us metal separately; it is one transaction with one number.

Questions we get on this desk
What transformer sizes do you buy?
From 15 kVA dry-types up through 50 MVA station units. There is no practical upper limit — large units need a rigging plan and sometimes a crane, both priced into the offer.
Do you test for PCBs?
Yes, on oil-filled units whose nameplate does not already certify non-PCB. Testing protects both sides: contaminated oil changes disposal requirements and cost, and it is far better to know before the unit is on a trailer.
Is copper winding really worth more than aluminum?
Substantially, yes — both higher resale demand and higher recovered metal value. The nameplate usually states winding material; when it does not, our technicians determine it on the survey.
Who handles the oil and the containment?
We do. Oil is tested, drained and manifested through licensed handlers, spill containment is on the truck, and the documentation is issued with your settlement paperwork. PCB-suspect units go under their own waste profile.
What about a transformer that is leaking or has failed?
Still quotable. A failed unit prices on core-and-coil recovery rather than resale, and if the leak has contaminated the pad we will tell you plainly what that adds to the removal cost before you commit.
