Questions
Frequently Asked Questions
Everything sellers ask before the first site visit. If your question is not here, the phone is faster than reading further.
Do you charge for removal?
No. On any lot with recoverable value the removal cost is priced into the offer and you receive a net number. If a lot is genuinely worthless — badly burned gear, scrap-only aluminum panels in a bad location — we will tell you that instead of inventing a number.
How fast can you be on site?
A written offer comes back the same business day. Crews typically mobilize within one to two weeks, and faster on a shutdown or a demo schedule that has already been set.
Do you buy equipment that is still energized?
We buy it, but we do not touch it energized. Your electrician or the utility de-energizes and locks out, your representative verifies it, and then our crews begin.
Will you take one item or do you only do whole plants?
Both. One transformer on a pad is a legitimate call. So is a complete plant electrical lot with substations, MCC lineups, hundreds of bus plugs and miles of tray cable.
Are you insured?
Yes. General liability and workers' compensation, with certificates naming your entity and your general contractor sent before mobilization if your site requires it.
What do you do with the equipment?
Reusable gear is tested, refurbished where needed, and resold into the used-equipment market — often to plants waiting many months on new switchgear. What cannot be reused is separated into copper, aluminum, steel and electronics streams.
Do you handle transformers with oil?
Yes, including PCB-suspect units. Oil is sampled and handled to the applicable federal and state rules, and you receive documentation for your records.
Can you work nights, weekends or during a shutdown?
Yes. Most industrial electrical removals happen inside a shutdown window, so off-hours and weekend work is normal for our crews.
Do you buy outside the United States?
We buy in all 50 states. We are not currently purchasing internationally.
How do you decide what something is worth?
Ratings and configuration first, then how sellable the specific nameplate is, then condition and documentation, then the real cost of getting it out of your building. The last item is the one sellers consistently underestimate.
Do you buy from contractors as well as plant owners?
Yes. Electrical contractors and demolition contractors are a large part of our volume, both as sellers of equipment they have removed and as partners on jobs where we handle the electrical scope.
Can you provide references?
Yes, on request, including projects of comparable size and scope to yours.
What if the equipment is in a remote location?
We still buy it. Trucking distance is one of the factors priced into the offer, so a remote site produces a lower net number, but distance alone rarely makes a real lot unsellable.
Do you buy PLCs, drives and instrumentation?
Yes — VFDs, soft starters, PLC racks and switchgear control panels all have value, particularly where the line is still supported.
