What we buy under electrical generator buyers

Standby and prime sets

Enclosed and open-skid sets from 100 kW to 3 MW on sub-base double-wall tanks or remote fuel systems, single units and multi-unit paralleled plants. Caterpillar, Cummins and Kohler move fastest, but every major engine family has a resale market and we quote all of them.

Mobile and rental-fleet sets

Trailer-mounted and skid-mounted mobile sets, including ex-rental-fleet units retired at high hours. Rental returns are usually well documented and mechanically honest, which makes them straightforward to price from a photo and an hour meter reading.

Non-running sets and support equipment

A set that will not start is still worth real money: alternator, radiator, controls, copper and a rebuildable block all carry value. We also buy the equipment installed alongside them — automatic transfer switches, paralleling switchgear, day tanks, remote radiators, exhaust silencers and load banks.

What the equipment is worth to you

Hours, engine family and emissions tier drive generator value. A low-hour Tier 2 or Tier 3 set with load-bank records prices as running equipment; a high-hour set with a failed head prices on its alternator, radiator, copper and core. Send the nameplate, the hour meter reading and the last service record and the number sharpens immediately.

Two numbers sit under every offer: what the next owner will pay for a working asset, and what the copper and aluminum are worth if nobody will. We show you both, then subtract our removal cost in the open.

Removal is included, not extra

Our price includes de-energized disassembly, rigging, loading and freight. You are not buying a demolition service from us and then selling us metal separately; it is one transaction with one number.

Questions we get on this desk

Do you buy generators that will not start?

Constantly. Non-running sets are priced on the alternator, radiator, control panel, copper and rebuildable core rather than as running equipment, but the number is real and it is usually well above scrap.

What sizes are worth selling?

100 kW and up is our core range, through 3 MW and beyond. Smaller sets are quotable when they are part of a larger lot or on an existing route.

Do you handle the fuel and coolant?

Yes. Diesel and coolant are drained and disposed of to spec, tanks are cleaned or manifested as required, and exhaust and fuel runs are cut and capped. That work is inside the offer, not an extra.

Our set is on a roof / in a basement. Can you get it out?

Routinely. Roof picks with a crane and below-grade extractions through knock-out panels or disassembly are both normal work. The pick is planned on the access survey before a date is committed.

Will you take the transfer switch and paralleling gear too?

Please do include them. ATS units and paralleling switchgear carry their own resale value, and taking them in the same lot means one mobilization instead of two.
