Echelon, NJ: Industrial Electrical Equipment Bought and Removed

We are a direct buyer, not a broker. In Echelon that distinction shows up on the dock: a broker's number is a guess that gets revised once their buyer sees the gear. Our offer is written against your nameplate photos and counts, itemized line by line, and it holds. We fund it ourselves and pay before the load moves.

Buying electrical equipment in Echelon

Chemical and pharmaceutical plants along the Turnpike corridor plus dense urban building renovations make New Jersey one of our highest-volume states for switchboards, busway risers and MV switchgear. For Echelon specifically, that density helps: crews already move through Newark, Secaucus, Weehawken, Piscataway and Cherry Hill, so mobilization is a scheduling question rather than a cost problem.

Once an offer is accepted in Echelon we schedule around your outage window, not ours. Nights, weekends and phased removals are normal. Crews arrive with their own rigging, skates, lifts, torches and oil-handling equipment, pull the gear, protect your floors and leave the electrical room clear for the next trade.

What drives the number

We do not quote high and renegotiate on the dock, which is the complaint we hear most often about this trade. If what our crew finds in Echelon matches what you described, the written price is the price we pay. If it does not — breakers already pulled, windings cut, a different model than the photo — we show you exactly which line changed and why.

Safety and documentation

Nothing leaves a Echelon site undocumented. Nameplate data is recorded as equipment comes out, regulated items like transformer oil and older capacitors are separated under their own profile, and you receive a reconciled report your EHS group can file against the original purchase agreement.

Paper you receive

Certificate of insurance before we mobilize, a written itemized offer, a signed bill of sale, and load documentation for every trailer. If your compliance team needs something specific, ask before we schedule.

Echelon questions

How do you handle transformer oil in Echelon?

Oil is tested, drained and manifested through licensed handlers, and you receive the documentation with your paperwork. PCB-suspect units go under a separate waste profile. Nothing is left on your pad in Echelon and nothing gets dumped — the handling cost is already in the offer.

When do we get paid?

Before the equipment leaves your Echelon dock. Wire, company check or cashier's check, whichever your accounting group prefers. On large phased projects we pay per load as it ships rather than holding everything until the end.

What if the equipment is old or has no test records?

We still quote it. Records raise the number — a NETA test report on a breaker or a transformer is the single document that most improves what we can pay — but their absence disqualifies nothing. We price Echelon equipment on what our technicians and the replacement market say it is worth.

Are you insured to work inside our Echelon facility?

Yes. We carry general liability, auto, workers' compensation and umbrella coverage, and we issue a certificate naming your entity as additional insured before crews mobilize to Echelon. We also complete vendor onboarding, background checks and site-specific safety orientation on request.

Can you work nights, weekends or during a shutdown in Echelon?

Regularly. Most electrical removals happen outside production hours because that is when circuits can be released. Night, weekend, holiday and turnaround windows in Echelon are normal scheduling for us, not a premium service.

What happens to the equipment after you buy it?

Serviceable gear is tested, reconditioned where needed and resold as replacement equipment — that resale is what funds your offer. What cannot go back into service is dismantled for copper, aluminum and steel recovery through permitted processors, with regulated fractions documented.
