What we buy under load bank buyers
Portable and trailer-mounted units
Wheeled and trailer-mounted resistive banks used for generator acceptance and annual testing, typically 100 kW to 1 MW, with their load cable, camlock tails and control panels. Rental-fleet retirements are common and usually well maintained.
Permanent and roof-mounted banks
Fixed load banks installed for automatic exercise of standby plants, including roof-mounted units and those integrated with paralleling switchgear. Removal is a crane and controls-disconnection job that we plan on the survey.
Reactive, MV and high-capacity
Resistive-reactive banks for kVAR testing, medium-voltage units and multi-module banks above 1 MW. These are specialised enough that the resale market is small but the buyers are motivated, so condition documentation matters more than usual.

What the equipment is worth to you
Load bank value is driven by kW rating, whether the unit is resistive-only or reactive, the condition of the load elements and controls, and portability. A working trailer-mounted unit with its cable set is the easiest configuration to resell.
Two numbers sit under every offer: what the next owner will pay for a working asset, and what the copper and aluminum are worth if nobody will. We show you both, then subtract our removal cost in the open.
Removal is included, not extra
Our price includes de-energized disassembly, rigging, loading and freight. You are not buying a demolition service from us and then selling us metal separately; it is one transaction with one number.

Questions we get on this desk
Do you buy load banks that no longer function?
Yes. Failed elements and dead controls drop the number toward recovered metal and salvageable parts, but the number is still real — these units are heavy in copper, nichrome and steel.
Will you take the load cable too?
Please include it. Camlock load cable sets are expensive to replace and add meaningfully to the offer.
Can you remove a roof-mounted permanent bank?
Yes. It is a crane pick plus controls and feeder disconnection, planned on the access survey and priced into the offer.
What sizes are worth quoting?
50 kW and up. Smaller units are usually bundled into a larger lot or an existing route.
Do you buy ex-rental fleet units in quantity?
Yes, and fleet lots are our preferred purchase in this category because one mobilization covers many units.
