What we buy under electrical bus duct buyers

Plug-in busway runs

Horizontal plug-in runs over production floors, with or without their plugs, in straight lengths plus the elbows, tees, offsets and hangers that came with them. Straight sections in common systems resell as replacement lengths; odd fittings are often the hardest items for a plant to source, which makes them disproportionately valuable.

Feeder busway and risers

Feeder runs between service equipment and distribution, and vertical risers in commercial buildings with their tap boxes and floor fittings. Riser removal is a stairwell-and-elevator problem as much as an electrical one, and we plan it on the survey.

Copper bus recovery

When a busway system is too obsolete or too damaged to resell, the copper or aluminum bus inside it is still a substantial recovery. We separate the bus from the housing and insulation ourselves and pay against verified weights rather than an estimate.

What the equipment is worth to you

Bus material is the first question — copper bus is worth several times aluminum on the same ampacity. After that it is system type, ampacity and whether the run comes out in reusable lengths. Runs cut into scrap-length pieces cannot be resold as equipment, so tell us before anything is cut.

Two numbers sit under every offer: what the next owner will pay for a working asset, and what the copper and aluminum are worth if nobody will. We show you both, then subtract our removal cost in the open.

Removal is included, not extra

Our price includes de-energized disassembly, rigging, loading and freight. You are not buying a demolition service from us and then selling us metal separately; it is one transaction with one number.

Questions we get on this desk

Copper or aluminum — how do we tell?

The nameplate on the run usually states it, and a photo of any joint pack or end box label normally resolves it. If not, our crew confirms it on the survey; it is the single biggest factor in the price.

Should we cut the busway down before you arrive?

Please do not. Reusable lengths and intact fittings are worth considerably more than cut pieces, and we do the removal anyway. Cutting first almost always costs you money.

Do you want the plugs with the run?

Yes. Plugs are frequently worth more than the busway itself, and taking both in one lot means one mobilization.

Can you remove a riser in an occupied building?

Yes, and it is common work. Riser removals are sequenced floor by floor around tenant power, usually on nights and weekends, with the shaft protected and the debris path planned in advance.

How is weight verified?

Certified scale tickets. Where bus recovery is part of the offer we pay against the ticket weights and hand you copies with the settlement paperwork.
