Selling Industrial Electrical Equipment in Moab, UT

We work with Moab plant managers, facility directors, electrical contractors, demolition contractors and utility engineers on the same footing: tell us what is there, we send back a number and a removal plan. Sites with escort requirements, hot work permitting or classified areas are routine rather than exceptional.

Buying electrical equipment in Moab

Coverage in Moab is run off our Utah routing along I-15, I-80 and I-215. Coordination with Rocky Mountain Power, Provo Power, Murray City Power on clearances, metering removal and final disconnect is part of the scope, not a change order. Mining and smelting along the Wasatch Front and steel and chemical operations south of Salt Lake produce MV switchgear, large drives and portable substations.

Once an offer is accepted in Moab we schedule around your outage window, not ours. Nights, weekends and phased removals are normal. Crews arrive with their own rigging, skates, lifts, torches and oil-handling equipment, pull the gear, protect your floors and leave the electrical room clear for the next trade.

What drives the number

Sometimes the equipment value exceeds our removal cost and you receive a check. On older, stripped or badly access-restricted Moab scopes, the removal cost exceeds the value and the project nets near zero or a modest fee. You hear which one you are looking at up front rather than halfway through the teardown.

Safety and documentation

If your Moab facility runs permits — hot work, confined space, elevated work, site orientation, background checks — tell us at the quote stage and we build the time into the schedule rather than asking for an extension later. Our people are used to refinery, hospital and utility permitting cultures.

Paper you receive

Certificate of insurance before we mobilize, a written itemized offer, a signed bill of sale, and load documentation for every trailer. If your compliance team needs something specific, ask before we schedule.

Moab questions

Our electrical room is in a basement with a tight door. Is that a problem?

It is routine. Switchgear sections, transformers and gensets frequently have to be cut down or partially disassembled to clear a door width, an elevator limit or a stair turn. The access survey at your Moab site establishes the path before we commit to a date, and that cost is already inside the offer.

Will you take the equipment we cannot sell along with the good items?

Yes, and this is usually why sellers choose us. Cherry-picking leaves you holding the leftovers of the leftovers. We price the Moab lot as a whole — good gear, obsolete gear and the scrap fraction together — so the electrical room ends up genuinely empty.

Do you provide documentation for surplus property or audit records?

Yes. Itemized purchase agreements, weight tickets, bills of lading, oil disposal manifests and recycling documentation are standard on Moab purchases. Public agencies and audited facilities get the paperwork their process requires without having to ask twice.

Do you actually buy electrical equipment in Moab, or just broker it?

We buy it. Industrial Electrical Buyer is the purchaser of record — we fund the purchase, send our own crews to Moab to disconnect and load, and take title when the equipment leaves your dock. There is no third party behind us waiting to approve the price.

What is the smallest job you will take in Moab?

A single transformer, one switchgear section, a pallet of bus plugs or a few boxes of breakers is worth a call. Because we route crews across Utah continuously, small Moab pickups usually get added to an existing run rather than priced as a dedicated trip.

How fast can you get to a Moab site?

Written offers go out the same business day in nearly every case. After acceptance, typical mobilization to Moab is a few business days for a straightforward removal and one to two weeks for a full plant scope that needs phasing, rigging plans or utility coordination.
