Buying electrical equipment in Lincolnshire

Chicago-area heavy manufacturing left an enormous installed base of Square D I-Line and Westinghouse busway and bus plugs, and Cook County demolition volume means we are in the metro nearly every week. For Lincolnshire specifically, that density helps: crews already move through Chicago, Elk Grove Village, Aurora and Northlake, so mobilization is a scheduling question rather than a cost problem.

Once an offer is accepted in Lincolnshire we schedule around your outage window, not ours. Nights, weekends and phased removals are normal. Crews arrive with their own rigging, skates, lifts, torches and oil-handling equipment, pull the gear, protect your floors and leave the electrical room clear for the next trade.

What drives the number

Sometimes the equipment value exceeds our removal cost and you receive a check. On older, stripped or badly access-restricted Lincolnshire scopes, the removal cost exceeds the value and the project nets near zero or a modest fee. You hear which one you are looking at up front rather than halfway through the teardown.

Safety and documentation

Safety is scope, not a brochure page. Crews working in Lincolnshire operate to NFPA 70E for arc-flash boundaries and PPE, follow OSHA 1910.147 lockout and tagout with our own locks and written procedures, and hold a daily job safety analysis before the first bolt turns. We do not energize, test or operate your equipment — isolation is verified with your electrician before we touch anything.

Paper you receive

Certificate of insurance before we mobilize, a written itemized offer, a signed bill of sale, and load documentation for every trailer. If your compliance team needs something specific, ask before we schedule.

Lincolnshire questions

Do we have to disconnect the equipment before you arrive?

No. We handle removal. Your electrician or the utility performs the final isolation and we verify it; from there our crews lock out, cut and cap cable at the gland, unbolt the sections, skate them out and load them. If the Lincolnshire room is still partly live we phase the work.

How do you handle transformer oil in Lincolnshire?

Oil is tested, drained and manifested through licensed handlers, and you receive the documentation with your paperwork. PCB-suspect units go under a separate waste profile. Nothing is left on your pad in Lincolnshire and nothing gets dumped — the handling cost is already in the offer.

When do we get paid?

Before the equipment leaves your Lincolnshire dock. Wire, company check or cashier's check, whichever your accounting group prefers. On large phased projects we pay per load as it ships rather than holding everything until the end.

What if the equipment is old or has no test records?

We still quote it. Records raise the number — a NETA test report on a breaker or a transformer is the single document that most improves what we can pay — but their absence disqualifies nothing. We price Lincolnshire equipment on what our technicians and the replacement market say it is worth.

Are you insured to work inside our Lincolnshire facility?

Yes. We carry general liability, auto, workers' compensation and umbrella coverage, and we issue a certificate naming your entity as additional insured before crews mobilize to Lincolnshire. We also complete vendor onboarding, background checks and site-specific safety orientation on request.

Can you work nights, weekends or during a shutdown in Lincolnshire?

Regularly. Most electrical removals happen outside production hours because that is when circuits can be released. Night, weekend, holiday and turnaround windows in Lincolnshire are normal scheduling for us, not a premium service.
