What drives the number
Sometimes the equipment value exceeds our removal cost and you receive a check. On older, stripped or badly access-restricted Karns scopes, the removal cost exceeds the value and the project nets near zero or a modest fee. You hear which one you are looking at up front rather than halfway through the teardown.

Safety and documentation
If your Karns facility runs permits — hot work, confined space, elevated work, site orientation, background checks — tell us at the quote stage and we build the time into the schedule rather than asking for an extension later. Karns questions
Do we have to disconnect the equipment before you arrive?
No. We handle removal. Your electrician or the utility performs the final isolation and we verify it; from there our crews lock out, cut and cap cable at the gland, unbolt the sections, skate them out and load them. If the Karns room is still partly live we phase the work.
How do you handle transformer oil in Karns?
Oil is tested, drained and manifested through licensed handlers, and you receive the documentation with your paperwork. PCB-suspect units go under a separate waste profile. Nothing is left on your pad in Karns and nothing gets dumped — the handling cost is already in the offer.
When do we get paid?
Before the equipment leaves your Karns dock. Wire, company check or cashier's check, whichever your accounting group prefers. On large phased projects we pay per load as it ships rather than holding everything until the end.
What if the equipment is old or has no test records?
We still quote it. Records raise the number — a NETA test report on a breaker or a transformer is the single document that most improves what we can pay — but their absence disqualifies nothing. We price Karns equipment on what our technicians and the replacement market say it is worth.
Are you insured to work inside our Karns facility?
Yes. We carry general liability, auto, workers' compensation and umbrella coverage, and we issue a certificate naming your entity as additional insured before crews mobilize to Karns. We also complete vendor onboarding, background checks and site-specific safety orientation on request.
Can you work nights, weekends or during a shutdown in Karns?
Regularly. Most electrical removals happen outside production hours because that is when circuits can be released. Night, weekend, holiday and turnaround windows in Karns are normal scheduling for us, not a premium service.
