Hondo, TX: Industrial Electrical Equipment Bought and Removed
Buying electrical equipment out of a live Hondo building is a different job from buying it out of a warehouse. Electrical rooms have door widths, freight elevators have weight limits, hospitals and process plants have loads that cannot blink, and someone has to own the sequence. We survey first, write the sequence into the offer, then execute it.

Buying electrical equipment in Hondo
Texas industry gives Hondo projects a real secondary market close by. Texas is our largest market: Gulf Coast petrochemical turnarounds, ERCOT generation retirements, oilfield electrification and Dallas and Austin construction all move medium-voltage switchgear, transformers and generators constantly. Equipment that leaves your site frequently goes back into service within a few hundred miles of where we picked it up, and that is what lets us pay above metal value.
If the Hondo equipment is still carrying load, we phase it. Usually that means dead sections and spares first, then distribution as circuits are released, then the main line-up once the last feeder is isolated. The phasing goes into the offer so nobody is improvising in an energized room at two in the morning.

What drives the number
Copper is the floor under most of this equipment, and it is a floor that moves. Bus bar, windings and feeder cable set a minimum value we can always pay on a Hondo lot; resale demand for the specific make and model is what lifts the offer above it. Obsolete bus plugs and discontinued panelboard interiors are the clearest example — unglamorous parts that plants cannot buy new anywhere.
| Input | Detail |

Safety and documentation
Nothing leaves a Hondo site undocumented. Nameplate data is recorded as equipment comes out, regulated items like transformer oil and older capacitors are separated under their own profile, and you receive a reconciled report your EHS group can file against the original purchase agreement.
Paper you receive
Certificate of insurance before we mobilize, a written itemized offer, a signed bill of sale, and load documentation for every trailer. If your compliance team needs something specific, ask before we schedule.

Hondo questions
Do you actually buy electrical equipment in Hondo, or just broker it?
We buy it. Industrial Electrical Buyer is the purchaser of record — we fund the purchase, send our own crews to Hondo to disconnect and load, and take title when the equipment leaves your dock. There is no third party behind us waiting to approve the price.
What is the smallest job you will take in Hondo?
A single transformer, one switchgear section, a pallet of bus plugs or a few boxes of breakers is worth a call. Because we route crews across Texas continuously, small Hondo pickups usually get added to an existing run rather than priced as a dedicated trip.
How fast can you get to a Hondo site?
Written offers go out the same business day in nearly every case. After acceptance, typical mobilization to Hondo is a few business days for a straightforward removal and one to two weeks for a full plant scope that needs phasing, rigging plans or utility coordination.
Do we have to disconnect the equipment before you arrive?
No. We handle removal. Your electrician or the utility performs the final isolation and we verify it; from there our crews lock out, cut and cap cable at the gland, unbolt the sections, skate them out and load them. If the Hondo room is still partly live we phase the work.
How do you handle transformer oil in Hondo?
Oil is tested, drained and manifested through licensed handlers, and you receive the documentation with your paperwork. PCB-suspect units go under a separate waste profile. Nothing is left on your pad in Hondo and nothing gets dumped — the handling cost is already in the offer.
When do we get paid?
Before the equipment leaves your Hondo dock. Wire, company check or cashier's check, whichever your accounting group prefers. On large phased projects we pay per load as it ships rather than holding everything until the end.
