Dunmore, PA: Industrial Electrical Equipment Bought and Removed

Most Dunmore plant engineers call us at one of two moments: the week a capital upgrade is approved, or the week a demolition contractor asks who is taking the electrical scope. The question is the same either way — what is it worth, and who gets it out of the building? One written offer answers both, because we are the buyer, the removal contractor and the hauler.

Buying electrical equipment in Dunmore

Steel, chemical and rail industry legacy across Pennsylvania left an extraordinary base of older switchgear and busway, and Philadelphia and Pittsburgh building renovations add switchboard and riser work. For Dunmore specifically, that density helps: crews already move through Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Allentown and Harrisburg, so mobilization is a scheduling question rather than a cost problem.

For Dunmore sites we quote two ways when it helps: a single number for the scope as it stands, and a line-by-line itemization showing what the switchgear, the transformers, the busway and the cable each contribute. Some teams need the lump sum to move an approval; others need the detail for their asset records. You can have both.

What drives the number

We do not quote high and renegotiate on the dock, which is the complaint we hear most often about this trade. If what our crew finds in Dunmore matches what you described, the written price is the price we pay. If it does not — breakers already pulled, windings cut, a different model than the photo — we show you exactly which line changed and why.

Safety and documentation

Nothing leaves a Dunmore site undocumented. Nameplate data is recorded as equipment comes out, regulated items like transformer oil and older capacitors are separated under their own profile, and you receive a reconciled report your EHS group can file against the original purchase agreement.

Paper you receive

Certificate of insurance before we mobilize, a written itemized offer, a signed bill of sale, and load documentation for every trailer. If your compliance team needs something specific, ask before we schedule.

Dunmore questions

What if the equipment is old or has no test records?

We still quote it. Records raise the number — a NETA test report on a breaker or a transformer is the single document that most improves what we can pay — but their absence disqualifies nothing. We price Dunmore equipment on what our technicians and the replacement market say it is worth.

Are you insured to work inside our Dunmore facility?

Yes. We carry general liability, auto, workers' compensation and umbrella coverage, and we issue a certificate naming your entity as additional insured before crews mobilize to Dunmore. We also complete vendor onboarding, background checks and site-specific safety orientation on request.

Can you work nights, weekends or during a shutdown in Dunmore?

Regularly. Most electrical removals happen outside production hours because that is when circuits can be released. Night, weekend, holiday and turnaround windows in Dunmore are normal scheduling for us, not a premium service.

What happens to the equipment after you buy it?

Serviceable gear is tested, reconditioned where needed and resold as replacement equipment — that resale is what funds your offer. What cannot go back into service is dismantled for copper, aluminum and steel recovery through permitted processors, with regulated fractions documented.

Do you buy equipment that is still energized and in service?

Yes, and most of what we buy is. We quote it now and remove it on your cutover date. Telling us at the quote stage which Dunmore assets are still live lets us build the phasing and the clearance coordination into the schedule from the beginning.

Our electrical room is in a basement with a tight door. Is that a problem?

It is routine. Switchgear sections, transformers and gensets frequently have to be cut down or partially disassembled to clear a door width, an elevator limit or a stair turn. The access survey at your Dunmore site establishes the path before we commit to a date, and that cost is already inside the offer.
