Breckenridge, CO: Industrial Electrical Equipment Bought and Removed

Most Breckenridge plant engineers call us at one of two moments: the week a capital upgrade is approved, or the week a demolition contractor asks who is taking the electrical scope. The question is the same either way — what is it worth, and who gets it out of the building? One written offer answers both, because we are the buyer, the removal contractor and the hauler.

Buying electrical equipment in Breckenridge

Our Colorado routing runs along I-25, I-70 and E-470, which keeps trailer and crew cost predictable on Breckenridge projects. Utility territory matters too — Xcel Energy, Black Hills Energy, Colorado Springs Utilities each have their own clearance, metering and disconnect expectations, and we have worked inside them. Front Range manufacturing, brewing and federal facilities produce switchgear and generator work, and mountain-corridor mining sites add portable substations and MV cable.

Paperwork travels with the job: a certificate of insurance naming your entity, a W-9, a signed purchase agreement listing every asset and its price, oil test and disposal manifests where transformers are in scope, and weight tickets or a bill of lading for what leaves the Breckenridge site. Maintenance, EHS and accounting each get the document they need.

What drives the number

Sometimes the equipment value exceeds our removal cost and you receive a check. On older, stripped or badly access-restricted Breckenridge scopes, the removal cost exceeds the value and the project nets near zero or a modest fee. You hear which one you are looking at up front rather than halfway through the teardown.

Safety and documentation

If your Breckenridge facility runs permits — hot work, confined space, elevated work, site orientation, background checks — tell us at the quote stage and we build the time into the schedule rather than asking for an extension later. Our people are used to refinery, hospital and utility permitting cultures.

Paper you receive

Certificate of insurance before we mobilize, a written itemized offer, a signed bill of sale, and load documentation for every trailer. If your compliance team needs something specific, ask before we schedule.

Breckenridge questions

Do we have to disconnect the equipment before you arrive?

No. We handle removal. Your electrician or the utility performs the final isolation and we verify it; from there our crews lock out, cut and cap cable at the gland, unbolt the sections, skate them out and load them. If the Breckenridge room is still partly live we phase the work.

How do you handle transformer oil in Breckenridge?

Oil is tested, drained and manifested through licensed handlers, and you receive the documentation with your paperwork. PCB-suspect units go under a separate waste profile. Nothing is left on your pad in Breckenridge and nothing gets dumped — the handling cost is already in the offer.

When do we get paid?

Before the equipment leaves your Breckenridge dock. Wire, company check or cashier's check, whichever your accounting group prefers. On large phased projects we pay per load as it ships rather than holding everything until the end.

What if the equipment is old or has no test records?

We still quote it. Records raise the number — a NETA test report on a breaker or a transformer is the single document that most improves what we can pay — but their absence disqualifies nothing. We price Breckenridge equipment on what our technicians and the replacement market say it is worth.

Are you insured to work inside our Breckenridge facility?

Yes. We carry general liability, auto, workers' compensation and umbrella coverage, and we issue a certificate naming your entity as additional insured before crews mobilize to Breckenridge. We also complete vendor onboarding, background checks and site-specific safety orientation on request.

Can you work nights, weekends or during a shutdown in Breckenridge?

Regularly. Most electrical removals happen outside production hours because that is when circuits can be released. Night, weekend, holiday and turnaround windows in Breckenridge are normal scheduling for us, not a premium service.
