Washington, IN Electrical Buyers

Retired industrial electrical equipment in Washington is usually worth more than assumed. A large share of what gets sent to a yard as scrap actually resells into service, and the difference between those two numbers is frequently significant. We will tell you honestly which category yours falls into before you commit to anything.

Industrial Electrical Equipment buyers serving Washington

Our Indiana routing runs along I-65, I-70, I-69 and I-465, which keeps crew and trailer cost predictable for Washington projects. Coordination with AES Indiana, Duke Energy Indiana, NIPSCO on clearances, metering removal and final disconnect is part of the scope, not a change order.

Once an offer is accepted we schedule around your outage, not ours. Night, weekend and phased removals in Washington are ordinary work. Crews arrive with their own rigging, lifts and containment, protect the floors and leave the room broom clean.

What we take out of Washington sites

Distribution and control equipment

Low- and medium-voltage switchgear and switchboards, motor control centers, panelboards, bus duct with its plugs, transfer switches, capacitor banks and the breakers that live inside all of it. This is the bulk of what moves through our yard, and it is where obsolete models are frequently worth more than current production because nobody else can supply them.

Power conversion and generation

Liquid-filled and dry-type transformers from 75 kVA to 50 MVA, unit substations, rectifier and furnace transformers, and diesel and gas gensets from 100 kW to 3 MW with or without their paralleling gear and transfer switches. Running or not — we price a seized engine on its alternator and core just as seriously as a low-hour set.

Indiana specifics

Steel mills in the Calumet region and automotive plants across central Indiana run some of the heaviest MV switchgear and furnace transformer installations in the country.

Washington questions

What is the smallest job you will take in Washington?

A single transformer, one switchgear section, a pallet of bus plugs or a few boxes of breakers is worth a call. Because we route crews across Indiana continuously, small Washington pickups usually get added to an existing run rather than priced as a dedicated trip.

How fast can you get to a Washington site?

Written offers go out the same business day in nearly every case. After acceptance, typical mobilization to Washington is a few business days for a straightforward removal and one to two weeks for a full plant scope that needs phasing, rigging plans or utility coordination.

Do we have to disconnect the equipment before you arrive?

No. We handle removal. Your electrician or the utility performs the final isolation and we verify it; from there our crews lock out, cut and cap cable at the gland, unbolt the sections, skate them out and load them. If the Washington room is still partly live we phase the work.

How do you handle transformer oil in Washington?

Oil is tested, drained and manifested through licensed handlers, and you receive the documentation with your paperwork. PCB-suspect units go under a separate waste profile. Nothing is left on your pad in Washington and nothing gets dumped — the handling cost is already in the offer.

When do we get paid?

Before the equipment leaves your Washington dock. Wire, company check or cashier's check, whichever your accounting group prefers. On large phased projects we pay per load as it ships rather than holding everything until the end.
