Hammond, LA Electrical Wire and Cable Buyers

Hammond facility and construction teams call us when equipment is coming out and nobody wants to coordinate an electrician, a rigger and a hauler around one outage window. We are all three, and we pay you for the equipment on top of it instead of charging you to haul it away.

Wire and Cable buyers serving Hammond

Hammond sits in Louisiana, where Entergy Louisiana, Cleco, SWEPCO feed the load and I-10, I-12, I-20 and I-49 carry the freight. Sites near those corridors cost us less to service, and that shows up in your offer rather than in our margin. New Orleans, Baton Rouge, Shreveport and Lafayette are routine stops and Hammond work routes with them.

If the Hammond equipment is still carrying load we phase it — dead sections and spares first, distribution as circuits are released, the main line-up on the final clearance. The phasing is written into the offer so nobody improvises in an energized room at two in the morning.

What we take out of Hammond sites

Feeder and building wire

THHN, XHHW and RHW copper and aluminum feeders from #12 AWG through 1,000 MCM, single conductors and multi-conductor assemblies, in conduit or free-air. Recovered building wire is the highest-volume item in most plant electrical lots.

Medium-voltage and shielded cable

5 kV, 15 kV, 25 kV and 35 kV shielded power cable, EPR and XLPE insulated, tape and wire shielded, single conductor and triplexed. Long unspliced runs and full reels can resell as cable rather than as recovered copper, which is worth considerably more.

Louisiana specifics

Gulf Coast petrochemical turnarounds are the dominant source of medium-voltage switchgear, MV MCCs and large rectifier transformers in the state, and hot-work permitting is standard on our crews' scope.

Hammond questions

Do we have to disconnect the equipment before you arrive?

No. We handle removal. Your electrician or the utility performs the final isolation and we verify it; from there our crews lock out, cut and cap cable at the gland, unbolt the sections, skate them out and load them. If the Hammond room is still partly live we phase the work.

How do you handle transformer oil in Hammond?

Oil is tested, drained and manifested through licensed handlers, and you receive the documentation with your paperwork. PCB-suspect units go under a separate waste profile. Nothing is left on your pad in Hammond and nothing gets dumped — the handling cost is already in the offer.

When do we get paid?

Before the equipment leaves your Hammond dock. Wire, company check or cashier's check, whichever your accounting group prefers. On large phased projects we pay per load as it ships rather than holding everything until the end.

What if the equipment is old or has no test records?

We still quote it. Records raise the number — a NETA test report on a breaker or a transformer is the single document that most improves what we can pay — but their absence disqualifies nothing. We price Hammond equipment on what our technicians and the replacement market say it is worth.

Are you insured to work inside our Hammond facility?

Yes. We carry general liability, auto, workers' compensation and umbrella coverage, and we issue a certificate naming your entity as additional insured before crews mobilize to Hammond. We also complete vendor onboarding, background checks and site-specific safety orientation on request.
