Sell Switchgear in Montauk, NY

We purchase switchgear throughout Montauk and the surrounding New York market. That includes equipment still energized and scheduled for replacement, equipment already isolated after a shutdown, and whole electrical rooms coming out of a building change. We buy it and we remove it — one offer, one crew, one certificate of insurance.

Switchgear buyers serving Montauk

Our New York routing runs along I-87, I-90, I-95, the LIE and the Cross Bronx, which keeps crew and trailer cost predictable for Montauk projects. Coordination with Con Edison, National Grid, NYSEG, LIPA on clearances, metering removal and final disconnect is part of the scope, not a change order.

Documentation travels with the job: a certificate of insurance naming your entity, a W-9, a signed purchase agreement itemizing each asset and its price, oil or PCB manifests where applicable, and weight tickets or a bill of lading for what leaves the Montauk site.

What we take out of Montauk sites

Medium-voltage metal-clad line-ups

Complete 4.16 kV, 13.8 kV and 38 kV metal-clad structures with their vacuum or air-magnetic breakers still racked in, main-tie-main arrangements, incoming line and metering cubicles, relay and protection sections, and outdoor walk-in and non-walk-in enclosures. Current-production vacuum breakers are the single strongest value driver in this category.

Low-voltage switchgear and switchboards

480 V and 600 V drawout switchgear, group-mounted and individually-mounted switchboards, main breaker and main lug sections, distribution sections with feeder breakers, and service-entrance equipment with utility metering. Square D Power-Style, GE AKD, Eaton Magnum and Siemens line-ups all move well.

New York specifics

Manhattan building renovations mean busway risers, meter stacks and switchboards removed through freight elevators on overnight dock windows, while upstate paper, steel and chemical plant closures release full substations.

Montauk questions

Are you insured to work inside our Montauk facility?

Yes. We carry general liability, auto, workers' compensation and umbrella coverage, and we issue a certificate naming your entity as additional insured before crews mobilize to Montauk. We also complete vendor onboarding, background checks and site-specific safety orientation on request.

Can you work nights, weekends or during a shutdown in Montauk?

Regularly. Most electrical removals happen outside production hours because that is when circuits can be released. Night, weekend, holiday and turnaround windows in Montauk are normal scheduling for us, not a premium service.

What happens to the equipment after you buy it?

Serviceable gear is tested, reconditioned where needed and resold as replacement equipment — that resale is what funds your offer. What cannot go back into service is dismantled for copper, aluminum and steel recovery through permitted processors, with regulated fractions documented.

Do you buy equipment that is still energized and in service?

Yes, and most of what we buy is. We quote it now and remove it on your cutover date. Telling us at the quote stage which Montauk assets are still live lets us build the phasing and the clearance coordination into the schedule from the beginning.

Our electrical room is in a basement with a tight door. Is that a problem?

It is routine. Switchgear sections, transformers and gensets frequently have to be cut down or partially disassembled to clear a door width, an elevator limit or a stair turn. The access survey at your Montauk site establishes the path before we commit to a date, and that cost is already inside the offer.
