St. Matthews, KY Electrical Buyers

Retired industrial electrical equipment in St. Matthews is usually worth more than assumed. A large share of what gets sent to a yard as scrap actually resells into service, and the difference between those two numbers is frequently significant. We will tell you honestly which category yours falls into before you commit to anything.

Industrial Electrical Equipment buyers serving St. Matthews

We treat Kentucky as a single service area instead of a list of towns. That is why a single item in St. Matthews is still worth quoting — it gets added to an existing run between Louisville, Lexington and Covington rather than priced as a dedicated trip.

Once an offer is accepted we schedule around your outage, not ours. Night, weekend and phased removals in St. Matthews are ordinary work. Crews arrive with their own rigging, lifts and containment, protect the floors and leave the room broom clean.

What we take out of St. Matthews sites

Distribution and control equipment

Low- and medium-voltage switchgear and switchboards, motor control centers, panelboards, bus duct with its plugs, transfer switches, capacitor banks and the breakers that live inside all of it. This is the bulk of what moves through our yard, and it is where obsolete models are frequently worth more than current production because nobody else can supply them.

Power conversion and generation

Liquid-filled and dry-type transformers from 75 kVA to 50 MVA, unit substations, rectifier and furnace transformers, and diesel and gas gensets from 100 kW to 3 MW with or without their paralleling gear and transfer switches. Running or not — we price a seized engine on its alternator and core just as seriously as a low-hour set.

Kentucky specifics

Automotive assembly, aluminum smelting and bourbon distilling all run heavy electrical infrastructure, and the Ohio River industrial corridor is one of our regular routes.

St. Matthews questions

How fast can you get to a St. Matthews site?

Written offers go out the same business day in nearly every case. After acceptance, typical mobilization to St. Matthews is a few business days for a straightforward removal and one to two weeks for a full plant scope that needs phasing, rigging plans or utility coordination.

Do we have to disconnect the equipment before you arrive?

No. We handle removal. Your electrician or the utility performs the final isolation and we verify it; from there our crews lock out, cut and cap cable at the gland, unbolt the sections, skate them out and load them. If the St. Matthews room is still partly live we phase the work.

How do you handle transformer oil in St. Matthews?

Oil is tested, drained and manifested through licensed handlers, and you receive the documentation with your paperwork. PCB-suspect units go under a separate waste profile. Nothing is left on your pad in St. Matthews and nothing gets dumped — the handling cost is already in the offer.

When do we get paid?

Before the equipment leaves your St. Matthews dock. Wire, company check or cashier's check, whichever your accounting group prefers. On large phased projects we pay per load as it ships rather than holding everything until the end.

What if the equipment is old or has no test records?

We still quote it. Records raise the number — a NETA test report on a breaker or a transformer is the single document that most improves what we can pay — but their absence disqualifies nothing. We price St. Matthews equipment on what our technicians and the replacement market say it is worth.
