Seattle, WA: Transfer Switches Purchase and Removal

Transfer Switches coming out of a Seattle facility is worth quoting even when it is decades old. Condition, whether the model is still supported and copper content move the number far more than age, and we will tell you honestly whether your units resell into service or price closer to recovered metal.

Transfer Switches we buy in Seattle

Washington industry gives Seattle projects a real secondary market close by. Aerospace, aluminum and food processing operations plus Bonneville-territory utility upgrades put large switchgear, rectifier transformers and MV cable on the market, and Puget Sound port access helps on export loads. Equipment that leaves your site frequently goes back into service within a few hundred miles of where we picked it up, and that is what lets us pay above metal value.

Paperwork travels with the job: a certificate of insurance naming your entity, a W-9, a signed purchase agreement listing every asset and its price, oil test and disposal manifests where transformers are in scope, and weight tickets or a bill of lading for what leaves the Seattle site. Maintenance, EHS and accounting each get the document they need.

What it is worth

We do not quote high and renegotiate on the dock, which is the complaint we hear most often about this trade. If what our crew finds in Seattle matches what you described, the written price is the price we pay. If it does not — breakers already pulled, windings cut, a different model than the photo — we show you exactly which line changed and why.

Questions

Can you work nights, weekends or during a shutdown in Seattle?

Regularly. Most electrical removals happen outside production hours because that is when circuits can be released. Night, weekend, holiday and turnaround windows in Seattle are normal scheduling for us, not a premium service.

What happens to the equipment after you buy it?

Serviceable gear is tested, reconditioned where needed and resold as replacement equipment — that resale is what funds your offer. What cannot go back into service is dismantled for copper, aluminum and steel recovery through permitted processors, with regulated fractions documented.

Do you buy equipment that is still energized and in service?

Yes, and most of what we buy is. We quote it now and remove it on your cutover date. Telling us at the quote stage which Seattle assets are still live lets us build the phasing and the clearance coordination into the schedule from the beginning.

Our electrical room is in a basement with a tight door. Is that a problem?

It is routine. Switchgear sections, transformers and gensets frequently have to be cut down or partially disassembled to clear a door width, an elevator limit or a stair turn. The access survey at your Seattle site establishes the path before we commit to a date, and that cost is already inside the offer.
