Pittsburgh, PA: Panelboards & Switchboards Purchase and Removal

Panelboards & Switchboards coming out of a Pittsburgh facility is worth quoting even when it is decades old. Condition, whether the model is still supported and copper content move the number far more than age, and we will tell you honestly whether your units resell into service or price closer to recovered metal.

Panelboards & Switchboards we buy in Pittsburgh

Our Pennsylvania routing runs along I-76, I-95, I-80, I-81 and I-476, which keeps trailer and crew cost predictable on Pittsburgh projects. Utility territory matters too — PECO, PPL, Duquesne Light, FirstEnergy each have their own clearance, metering and disconnect expectations, and we have worked inside them. Steel, chemical and rail industry legacy across Pennsylvania left an extraordinary base of older switchgear and busway, and Philadelphia and Pittsburgh building renovations add switchboard and riser work.

Once an offer is accepted in Pittsburgh we schedule around your outage window, not ours. Nights, weekends and phased removals are normal. Crews arrive with their own rigging, skates, lifts, torches and oil-handling equipment, pull the gear, protect your floors and leave the electrical room clear for the next trade.

What it is worth

Sometimes the equipment value exceeds our removal cost and you receive a check. On older, stripped or badly access-restricted Pittsburgh scopes, the removal cost exceeds the value and the project nets near zero or a modest fee. You hear which one you are looking at up front rather than halfway through the teardown.

Questions

How fast can you get to a Pittsburgh site?

Written offers go out the same business day in nearly every case. After acceptance, typical mobilization to Pittsburgh is a few business days for a straightforward removal and one to two weeks for a full plant scope that needs phasing, rigging plans or utility coordination.

Do we have to disconnect the equipment before you arrive?

No. We handle removal. Your electrician or the utility performs the final isolation and we verify it; from there our crews lock out, cut and cap cable at the gland, unbolt the sections, skate them out and load them. If the Pittsburgh room is still partly live we phase the work.

How do you handle transformer oil in Pittsburgh?

Oil is tested, drained and manifested through licensed handlers, and you receive the documentation with your paperwork. PCB-suspect units go under a separate waste profile. Nothing is left on your pad in Pittsburgh and nothing gets dumped — the handling cost is already in the offer.

When do we get paid?

Before the equipment leaves your Pittsburgh dock. Wire, company check or cashier's check, whichever your accounting group prefers. On large phased projects we pay per load as it ships rather than holding everything until the end.
