We purchase bus duct throughout Chicago and the surrounding Illinois market — units still energized and scheduled for replacement, equipment already sitting dead after an upgrade, and lots coming out of a full plant closure. Bus Duct & Busway we buy in Chicago
Chicago sits in Illinois, where ComEd, Ameren Illinois, MidAmerican feed the load and I-90, I-94, I-55, I-80 and I-290 carry the freight. Both facts land in your number: a site near those corridors costs us less to service and the saving shows up in the offer rather than our margin. Chicago, Elk Grove Village, Aurora and Northlake are regular stops, and Chicago work routes with them.
If the Chicago equipment is still carrying load, we phase it. Usually that means dead sections and spares first, then distribution as circuits are released, then the main line-up once the last feeder is isolated. The phasing goes into the offer so nobody is improvising in an energized room at two in the morning.

What it is worth
Copper is the floor under most of this equipment, and it is a floor that moves. Bus bar, windings and feeder cable set a minimum value we can always pay on a Chicago lot; resale demand for the specific make and model is what lifts the offer above it. Obsolete bus plugs and discontinued panelboard interiors are the clearest example — unglamorous parts that plants cannot buy new anywhere.
Illinois note
Chicago-area heavy manufacturing left an enormous installed base of Square D I-Line and Westinghouse busway and bus plugs, and Cook County demolition volume means we are in the metro nearly every week.

Questions
Are you insured to work inside our Chicago facility?
Yes. We carry general liability, auto, workers' compensation and umbrella coverage, and we issue a certificate naming your entity as additional insured before crews mobilize to Chicago. We also complete vendor onboarding, background checks and site-specific safety orientation on request.
Can you work nights, weekends or during a shutdown in Chicago?
Regularly. Most electrical removals happen outside production hours because that is when circuits can be released. Night, weekend, holiday and turnaround windows in Chicago are normal scheduling for us, not a premium service.
What happens to the equipment after you buy it?
Serviceable gear is tested, reconditioned where needed and resold as replacement equipment — that resale is what funds your offer. What cannot go back into service is dismantled for copper, aluminum and steel recovery through permitted processors, with regulated fractions documented.
Do you buy equipment that is still energized and in service?
Yes, and most of what we buy is. We quote it now and remove it on your cutover date. Telling us at the quote stage which Chicago assets are still live lets us build the phasing and the clearance coordination into the schedule from the beginning.
