Charlotte, NC: Transformers Purchase and Removal

We purchase transformers throughout Charlotte and the surrounding North Carolina market — units still energized and scheduled for replacement, equipment already sitting dead after an upgrade, and lots coming out of a full plant closure. We buy the gear and we do the removal: one company, one offer, one certificate of insurance.

Transformers we buy in Charlotte

Our North Carolina routing runs along I-85, I-40, I-77 and I-95, which keeps trailer and crew cost predictable on Charlotte projects. Utility territory matters too — Duke Energy Carolinas, Duke Energy Progress, Dominion each have their own clearance, metering and disconnect expectations, and we have worked inside them. Furniture, textile and tobacco plant conversions across the Piedmont leave complete electrical scopes behind, and Charlotte-area banking and data facilities add well-maintained switchgear.

Paperwork travels with the job: a certificate of insurance naming your entity, a W-9, a signed purchase agreement listing every asset and its price, oil test and disposal manifests where transformers are in scope, and weight tickets or a bill of lading for what leaves the Charlotte site. Maintenance, EHS and accounting each get the document they need.

What it is worth

Three things drive the number: condition, whether the equipment is still supported, and copper content. A medium-voltage line-up with current vacuum breakers and a recent test report prices as reusable equipment. An identical structure with obsolete air-magnetic breakers and no nameplate prices on its bus and steel. We tell you which bucket your Charlotte gear falls into before you commit to anything.

Questions

What if the equipment is old or has no test records?

We still quote it. Records raise the number — a NETA test report on a breaker or a transformer is the single document that most improves what we can pay — but their absence disqualifies nothing. We price Charlotte equipment on what our technicians and the replacement market say it is worth.

Are you insured to work inside our Charlotte facility?

Yes. We carry general liability, auto, workers' compensation and umbrella coverage, and we issue a certificate naming your entity as additional insured before crews mobilize to Charlotte. We also complete vendor onboarding, background checks and site-specific safety orientation on request.

Can you work nights, weekends or during a shutdown in Charlotte?

Regularly. Most electrical removals happen outside production hours because that is when circuits can be released. Night, weekend, holiday and turnaround windows in Charlotte are normal scheduling for us, not a premium service.

What happens to the equipment after you buy it?

Serviceable gear is tested, reconditioned where needed and resold as replacement equipment — that resale is what funds your offer. What cannot go back into service is dismantled for copper, aluminum and steel recovery through permitted processors, with regulated fractions documented.
