Brooklyn, NY: Capacitors & Power Quality Purchase and Removal

Capacitors & Power Quality coming out of a Brooklyn facility is worth quoting even when it is decades old. Condition, whether the model is still supported and copper content move the number far more than age, and we will tell you honestly whether your units resell into service or price closer to recovered metal.

Capacitors & Power Quality we buy in Brooklyn

Manhattan building renovations mean busway risers, meter stacks and switchboards removed through freight elevators on overnight dock windows, while upstate paper, steel and chemical plant closures release full substations. For Brooklyn specifically, that density helps: crews already move through Manhattan, Buffalo, Rochester, Syracuse and Albany, so mobilization is a scheduling question rather than a cost problem.

If the Brooklyn equipment is still carrying load, we phase it. Usually that means dead sections and spares first, then distribution as circuits are released, then the main line-up once the last feeder is isolated. The phasing goes into the offer so nobody is improvising in an energized room at two in the morning.

What it is worth

Sometimes the equipment value exceeds our removal cost and you receive a check. On older, stripped or badly access-restricted Brooklyn scopes, the removal cost exceeds the value and the project nets near zero or a modest fee. You hear which one you are looking at up front rather than halfway through the teardown.

Questions

Do we have to disconnect the equipment before you arrive?

No. We handle removal. Your electrician or the utility performs the final isolation and we verify it; from there our crews lock out, cut and cap cable at the gland, unbolt the sections, skate them out and load them. If the Brooklyn room is still partly live we phase the work.

How do you handle transformer oil in Brooklyn?

Oil is tested, drained and manifested through licensed handlers, and you receive the documentation with your paperwork. PCB-suspect units go under a separate waste profile. Nothing is left on your pad in Brooklyn and nothing gets dumped — the handling cost is already in the offer.

When do we get paid?

Before the equipment leaves your Brooklyn dock. Wire, company check or cashier's check, whichever your accounting group prefers. On large phased projects we pay per load as it ships rather than holding everything until the end.

What if the equipment is old or has no test records?

We still quote it. Records raise the number — a NETA test report on a breaker or a transformer is the single document that most improves what we can pay — but their absence disqualifies nothing. We price Brooklyn equipment on what our technicians and the replacement market say it is worth.
